Shirley Lee Baldwin is a native Virginian and alumnus of the University of Virginia. She has written plays, poems, and short stories for fun since the fourth grade as encouraged by her teacher, Mrs. Scott. All grown up now, Shirley was inspired by her multi-generational upbringing in a college town to write her new middle-grade series Feathers, Treasures & Sandy Paws—stories for the young and young at heart, ages nine to ninety-nine.
If you’ve ever discovered something with the help of your best friends; or wondered what your pet was thinking; or had such a strange experience you weren't sure if it was a dream; or love exploring the back corner of an old bookstore, then her latest book series is for you. Readers are promised a little magic, a little mystery, and a lot of smiles.
Shirley has recently returned to Virginia after living overseas for twenty years. Why? Because there's simply no place like home. She lives in the foothills of the ancient and mystical Blue Ridge Mountains. Almost heaven, just Virginia.

I'm very excited about the releases of the first two books in my middle grade series Feathers, Treasures & Sandy Paws. Follow eleven-year-old Jack and his friends on their adventures and discoveries in the seaside village of Hansford Landing where anything can happen and often does!

Do you like secrets? See how many you can count in Big Little Secrets, Book Two in the series, released in paperback on Nov 11, 2025 followed by the e-book on Nov 17th.
Both books are available on Amazon. Book Two can also be found on-line at Walmart, Books-a-Million, and Barnes & Noble.
Reading the book series in sequence will result in the best experience!
